#1 Be professional
#2 Be professional
#3 When in doubt as to the method that you should behave in a situation where you are taking nude pictures¦see rules one and 2. I realise this can sound stupidly obvious but the volume of stories models return with of other “online photographers” behaviour is amazing. From shooters demanding models only use them, to others becoming true nude photographers (in possible meanings of the phrase), to outright sulking and petulance, edits never being delivered etc. Then there are the inventors that hit on models, not understanding anything about them aside from whatever they appear to be from a half of hour of photoshop with a professional shooter…do not be some of those guys. It’s good to be aware of at all times that models talk amongst themselves and other photographers – a great deal. So next time you happen to be unsure the best way to react to a specific situation, think of the method that you would want to be portrayed inside the eyes of countless – because which is quite likely what’s nearly to happen.
#4 Add something personal: remember regarding the models latest shots or your favourite ones and why. You’d be amazed just how much of your difference this makes.
#5 Be as specific as possible: maybe you do not know everything of your shoot but give the model that which you do have, plus any information you can on where her shots will finish up. Most models actually don’t care a lot at all where their shots will probably be used by letting them know more details you happen to be also behaving (and appearing) more professional – great for all!
#6 Ensure that it stays relevant: no offers of marriage or rants on politics please – keep it brief but informative.
#7 tailor your folio: keep your landscapes through your MM folio, you’ve other sites on their behalf.
#8 Be selective: In a folio often less is much more. 10 great shots can look far better themselves than flanked by 40 other mediocre ones.
#9 Followup: both pre and post the shoot. But not too much – remember rules numbers 1&2. Treat the model being a prise client, stay in just regular enough communication pre and post work together in order that everything is always clear however, not enough to bother her. Remember the guy from rule #3 (no not the nude photographer in both senses, the other one)? You still don’t want to be him. #10 I lied, there is no
